Rookery Barn Holidays Local Area

We are situated in Ridlington, North Norfolk in a quiet rural location, but
it is an easy walk to the safe sandy beach of Keswick and Walcott, and
a short drive to the surrounding beaches of Bacton, Happisburgh, Cromer
and Sea Palling. There are miles of safe sandy beaches stretching from
Kings Lynn all the way down the coast to Great Yarmouth, which is
famous for it’s Golden Mile, Racecourse, Stadium and a multitude
of seaside attractions and entertainments. There are local golf courses
at Mundesley and Cromer, 5 and 9 miles away, Sheringham, Sprowston
and Norwich.

The County City of Norwich is one of England’s finest Cities. It is in the top
10 shopping destinations in the country. Don’t miss a visit to the magnificent
Cathedral, towering above the surrounding medieval Streets. Norwich Castle
Museum is definitely worth a day out and we recommend booking the
Dungeon and battlement tour.

The Norfolk Broads National Park is a short drive, with its vast expanse of 
Interconnected lakes and waterways, which have become a firm favourite
with sailors, fishermen and wildlife enthusiasts. You can hire a boat for
the day and take a picnic to see the broads at their best.

For those guests who enjoy nature there are several Nature Reserves close
to Rookery Barn Holidays. With several RSPB sites, Catfield Fen, Buckenham
Marshes, Breydon Water and Sutton Fen, along with Pensthorpe Waterfowl
Park, which has been regularly featured in BBCs Spring and Autumn Watch

For those who enjoy walking and cycling there are many routes available
starting on our doorstep.  Bacton Woods are an easy drive away with many
cycle paths and walking routes for those of you who have dogs with them.
